Leading Swiss retailer Migros pilots ESL
Migros, the number one retail group in Switzerland, has started a country-wide pilot program with ESL marking the beginnings of interest for electronic shelf labelling in the important Swiss food retailing market. Switzerland is one of the few European countries that have not seen any adoption of ESL. At Migros, prices are still marked on the products.
The decision to abandon individual article pricing for pricing at the shelf edge is a major step for Migros. During the first half of this year, the retailer will be evaluating the Pricer DotMatrix solution which offers paper-like readability and significant operational benefits for the store.
Migros' decision to pilot ESL is expected to open new opportunities in the Swiss market for Pricer.
